my top 5 for 2011

I am joining Debby in picking my favourite 5

As it is New Years eve here I have endevoured to pick out my top 5 cards for 2011.
I had to leave many that I first chose and I am not sure that I have the right ones now!!!

This is one I did for a coffee and cream challenge with little shy Tilda.

Now red is not really me but I love the clean lines.

This one says summer to me and that is what we have right now.

Oh dear I have chosen all Tilda's

So we will have something different for No 5
A white on white and I assure you the flowers are all white
even though they seem to have a red tinge.

May 2012 be good to every one.

Many thanks for  your friendship over the past 12 months.
See you next year.

For a very good friend

My Chrissy card are all done not all posted but at least all made.
So today I thought I would show you a card that I have
made for a very good friend who is just about to go into surgery
for lung cancer.
Posted by Picasa

Have followed the sketch on Penny Black Saturday challenge
and used this delightful stamp which I think says it all.
I used DI Spun Sugar around the edges
and coloured with my copics.
Using E13-15-17, C1-3-5, G21 YG03-63 Y35
It amazes me how so many people can take the same sketch and yet come up with
so many different cards just take a look at the DT cards.

Must now get stuck into getting the last dozen or so cards out and then
to buy my gifts.

Thank you all for you friendship and wonderful comments and for
making this a very happy year for me blog wise.

In the Red

Sorry to hear about the flooding in parts of Queenland and NSW
down in this end of Tassie
we could do with more rain .

No I haven't finished my Chrissy cards yet so here is another one for you.
I have brought out the lovely snowman again.
The greeting is a LOTV one.  I think they are really special.
The DP is an odd piece I had left over from something I did a couple of years ago.
It's from Kaiser I think and although it isn't Chrissy paper.
I feel it fits the bill.
I embossed the white card with the Swiss dots added a piece of ribbon.
A little stickles and some glittery snowflakes that are not easy to see
but look good in real life.

A touch of glitter

Good Morning not so warm here today and they say rain again,
well I will beleive that when I see it.
Though it could well rain as I have a load of towels in the washing machine!
Posted by Picasa

Thought I would have a stab at a bingo challenge
that Southern Girls are offering and as it closes tomorrow must get it in.
I have chosen Embossing [dry], Ribbon and Glitter.
I ran out of red card at one point so had to improvise. Shhhh.  Not a word to anyone.

This lovely Lili of the valley image. Hope the glitter shows up.
Have stickled the muff and the snow and mounted it onto glitter card.
The ribbon also is very glittery.

Christmas Marci

They keep telling us we are going to have showers but none eventuate
we badly need the rain, it just seems to all be going north of us.

I had completely forgotten this card that I made must be around the beginning of October.
Only remembered it because I will be teaching this on Satuday
and I know I have several kits to make up as well.
This one takes a lot of card so there will be quite a lot of cutting out to do.
Copics used:
Hair E37 E35 E33 E31
Skin E50 E53 R20
Hat and waistcoat G21 G29
Dress and boots  R35 R46
Staocking R35 R46 G21
Panda C7
This is quite a big project as there is a lot on the inside too but I didn't take pics.. sorry
This will be my last class for this year no more till February.

3 Little Angels

The lovely ladies at Lili of the Valley here allowed me to send them a cheque to pay for my order, bless them and I was soo excited to receive my stamps couldn't wait to use them.
This is going to be my favorite I can see. They remind me of some little people
we used to have in our family.
From the photo it looks as if they have been a bit too close to the sun.
It is the camera mans fault not mine.
Posted by Picasa

I really will have to get some more of the Bo Bunny DP as it will go with anything.
I punched the corners with a punch that just takes a very small
snick out each side and then wound embroidery thread
around the card using the little snicks to hold it on the corners.
You just have to make sure you put a drop of glue on each corner
when you stick it down.
The gold dotty ribbon is soo sweet too and I have really gone to town with the
stickles.  The gold stars are from a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Just embossed them and cut them out uses up all the scraps of shiny card.

My Sweet Snowman

This card came together so well with little pieces of left over ribbon and paper.
Making a A6 card in itself is usually a challenge
but not this time.
It is the first time that I have used this sweet Snowman.
I just love him with his beanie on at an angle.
I had to take the photo at an angle too as there was too much reflection from the snowflakes.
Am entering this in
Penny Black Saturday challenge- Christmas with silver and snowflakes

As promised

I promised you some more Christmas cards today.  These are some of the ones I have made
from just one sheet of paper from Art Stamps Australia.
Just very plain and simple but so effective I think.
I think I will end up with about 9 out of the one sheet and still have a few border pieces over.
Good value for money don't you think.

Not a bad sort of day today.
DH had an appointment for his hearing today I did ask the man he saw if they
talked about selective hearing.....
DH's hearing has been affected by using noisy machinery etc and no hearing aid is really able to improve his hearing very much.

Back to those Chrissy cards....

I had a ball up in Devonport spending as much time as I could in my friends craft shop.
.
Catching up with all the staff and sitting down with customers giving them tips with their copics.

Of course there is never enough time to do or see all that I would have liked.

All too soon we were back home but it was good to see the Midlands looking green,
not lush but green never the less. The sheep were actually eating grass!!!!!.

The north is lush but they have had a lot of rain this winter.

I have been madly making Chrissy cards since getting home and hope to find time to post some for you to see tomorrow.

For this one I have used the sketch from Papertake weekly but that was last week, drat.  However as it is anything goes I am sure they wont mind me entering this.
Actually this paper is quite hard to co-odinate as well as the dark red and green it
has blues and cream.
Tilda's dress I coloured with BG000 and BG01
Then decided this was just too blue so it is covered with G000 and Goo
now it matches the colour in the top left hand corner of the pattern.
Her wings have been stickled and I used my spica pen on her hair and in the blue shadow beneath her.
The hair really shows up.

Am entering this in:
Papertake Weekly-Anything goes

Angel in blue

Yes just time to post this before we head off.

I want to say a big thank you to both Sammi from Mad for Markers and .Make it Monday

I won the comment of the week on Make it Monday
which was a Copicendium that arrived yesterday.

A lovely glossy magazine full of cards and recipes of copics used.

This could not have been a better prize for this copic-aholic.
Posted by Picasa

So I whizzed over to Mad for Markers and found they had a sketch challenge on.

I have managed to quickly make this card following the sketch.

Actually I was having a clear up and the piece of pattern paper must be at least 3 or 4 years old.

It was in a bag with just enough dark blue to make the card.
Anyone would think it was just wiating for me to make this card.

Tilda was coloured with:
Hair-E50 E51 E21
Skin- E00 E21 R11 R20
Dress- B23 B32
Wings B000
Ribbon- B000 B00
around the edge B32.

Thank you for dropping in you are most welcome.

Cute little Angel

I am going to be away next week so this extra card will make up for that.

The ribbon came from the reject shop and now I know why.

I really had to fight with it to get it stuck down, it would not obsorb the glue.

It must be metalic.  I am glad you were not in ear shot as there were some naughty words spoken.

When it did stick, boy, did it stick, there will be no moving it now.

As I said we are going away next week up to the north of the state lets hope the weather will

continue its improvement and not turn wet and cold again.

A Day without rain.......

My fav CD by Enya.
Today has been a beautiful day but really too hot for me around 28 degrees
have had the fan on while I was working.
We never get the weather how we want it do we?
If it ranged between 18 and 24 all the time I would be a happy little vegemite.
The long term forecast for Friday is 14 so it will be back to winter.
DH had to give the peas and beans a drink today after all the rain we have had but
they were really feeling the heat.

Today I have followed the sketch over at Gem of a challenge.
Really loved it as it came together so well. I shall be using it again for sure.
Although I have rather put my own slant on it by moving the image down
so that I did not hide the holly branch that I embossed on the back ground.
I agonised over the flowers for ages as none of the colours seemed to fit but then I remembered some glittery card that I have had for ages and they reeally stand out.
The photo doesn't do it justice.
I coloured the rhinestones with my copic R46 I think.
Am madly into Chrissy cards now as I will soon have to start posting them if I am going to get them all out before Christmas.  The total is around 40 plus so far heaps to go yet.
Am also entering this in Make it Monday where it is always Anything goes. Bless them.

Coffee and cream

Our spring is being very naughty snow on the mountain again yesterday and of course we get rain
in fact everywhere is dripping the poor lawn is water logged.
Thankfully this afternoon the sun has come out and it has been quite pleasant.
Not before time.

I just love this colour combination and I added the yellow to give it a bit of contrast.
This is one of the Tilda's that has such cute little knees.
Actually I should have called it  Cocoa and cream as the card stock was Cocoa.
The DP was from HOTP.
The flowers were cut with the baby retro flower punch.
I now have 4 sizes of this punch so you can expect to see more flowers made with them.
I still have to finish off the inside.

I am entering this card in:

Papertake Weekly- Get into Shape 3 or more shapes on your card
Just Magnolia- Anything goes plus coffe and cream optional
Make it Monday- Anything goes

3 More Chrissy cards

Yes 3 more to go with the one HERE.

They were all made with Kaiser paper in the Silly Season range
And the Bazzil I used was Petunia
and Limeade.  2 very beautiful colours.

I have used the same Tilda on each of them in different ways.

I have made them very plain but as they have to travel a lot of miles
I must be able to get them in an envelope.
Postage is a killer.

Am entering these in
Make it Monday- Always anything goes

Thanks for dropping by you are most welcome.

PS  If you see the sun just tell it to get back here.

It's officially SPRING.

We are enjoying a few days of very pleasant weather so I have made a springtime card today.

The HOTP paper is delightful with its yellow through orange blooms and blue foliage.

I have sponge the edges with DI Spiced Marmalade,
now I am thinking that I should have also sponged the edges of the flower too.

The flower I made with the Retro flower punch.
I love this as it sits so nicely.  The leaves I hand cut as I wanted to add the touch of green.
I matched Tilda's dress to the colours of the paper and I love her shiny blue shoes.
These have really shown up so well.

I am entering this in
Make it Monday- Anything goes
