So cute

Am racing to make enough cards for Christmas
even though I have been making them all year I am lagging behind.
I have started helping some of the ladies at the aged care facility
to make cards and this is the one we made this month.

I have adapted it slightly to fit Merry Monday's theme

Also sharing this with Rudolf Days Challenge.

Don't know where spring went except for a few hot days it has been
wet and very windy and so many people with allergies as the
wind has spread the pollen far and wide.

Summer starts next Thursday so hopefully the wind will abate.
Then I will be complaining of the heat.
Just cannot win can we?

Lovely to see you pop in any time.

Happy Birthday

Just popped in to share my daughters birthday card with you.

This is SW Floral Meadow that I have backed with a
lovely green although it looks yellow there.
The border Die Namics is in silver and the flowers are SW Camellia.

This daughter has taken to colouring in just with Faber Castell pencils
so I stamped up a background stamp and gave her and this is the result.
I have made them into 4 very different cards.

This is mounted on silver which really brings the pink out

This one has lots of smooch and stickles on it.

Am really happy with the colour combo here.

But this is the all time favorite.

Am sharing the top card with Flower  challenge

Must dash like the White Rabbit 'I'm late I'm late'.

Me use Grey...... You're Joking

This is the very first time that I have used grey on a card
and I was horrified too when I saw how dark the grey was.
However what is the use of a challenge if you don't challenge your self.
So here is the card .

and I have just seen the centre of the Poinsettia
which will probably disqualify me.
I am loving the flourish which is
Memory Box Madera Corner.
Me thinks I will be using that again.

Life is extra busy and I don't know why but at least the weather is
supposed to stay fine over the weekend.
Hope you all have a pleasant weekend.

Special occasion

Oh we have had so much wind and wild weather
with a few hot days thrown in.
Yesterday was 26 with strong cool gusty winds.
Today 14 with showers and there was a chance of snow too.
The weather has gone mad.
It is no wonder that I have been suffering a sinus infection.

This is a card for one of those very special occasions.

This has been made entirely with Sue Wilson products.
EF Art Deco Fanfare
Dies Stockholm, and Blushing rose.
Cosmic shimmer Diamond sprinkles.
I love this as it just gives a sheen.
I have used a very pale pink card on this although it looks peach in some areas.
This is for the
Simply paper craft - Always anything goes
Alphabet challenge blog - Use 3 ingredients.

Megan hope your weather is improving and I love you red wine card
sorry I am unable to leave a comment.

Thanks for dropping in you are most welcome.

Happy Birthday

With snow on the mountain and only 13 the forecast for today,
where has our spring gone?
I have the heater cranked up though the sun is out at the moment.

Today I have 2 30th birthday cards to show you.

This card shows off the lovely Tonic Deco Oval Trellis Die
The large flowers are the Retro flower that I trimmed with fancy scissors.
The camera has made them a brighter pink than they really are

This card shows off another of my new PB stamps
Coloured with copics.
RV 13-14-21-23-32-42-02-06
R 81-85
YG 17-23
I lightly sponged Memento Summer Sky around.
Really pleased with this.

This is Spring!

Our crazy weather, here we are half way through spring and we have had
gale force winds, snow on the mountain and at the moment sleet and hail.
It is supposed to improve by the weekend, fingers crossed.

Today I am showing off the last of the stamps in the PB Botanicals.
Am really thrilled with this set.
The first one is just stamped in black over gloss card that has been
sponged.  This shows off the full stamp.

In the second one I have chosen to use the stamp around the card
and have coloured in with copics.  The butterflies also comes with this stamp set
and after colouring I washed it with smooch to give a sparkle.

The background paper came from LOTV.

Non traditional

The  nice warm hint of spring has gone and we are huddled around the heater again.
We have had so much rain that the garden squelches when you walk on it.
Thankfully we have not had the high winds like those in SA have.
Neither have we had the rain although the north of the state have
had a good amount again.
Typical Aussie weather either a feast or a famine.

I don't usually use Pink for Christmas but thought I would challenge myself.

I am really pleased with the result.

Scented

My one and only beautiful Grand daughter has just
had her 40th birthday.
Where oh where have those years gone.
So now I can show you her birthday card made with another
new PB stamp called Scented

The photo really doesn't do it justice.
I embossed the stamp with a fine gold glitter powder and
coloured with Copics and it is really very elegant.
I mounted this onto gold shimmer paper.
The die is a Sue Wilson freebe from Die Cut Essentials magazine
that has just arrived here in Australia,  Think it is the July edition.

Here is another card I made with the same stamp but this time embossed with black,
fussy cut and mounted with 3D foam. So very different.
Have written myself a memo to get some new embossing powders
as mine are all so old and getting yucky.
This is such an easy rose to colour in

Well this is what I have been up to the last week or so to keep my mind off things.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend.

More florals

A big welcome to Marijke who has joined my followers.

Here are 2 more cards made with the PB Botanic Garden stamps.
Love this little flower.
In the first card I used a new embossing folder from WeR
called Quilted.
Also used up a small snippet of lace and the last piece of ribbon so
I am sharing it with the Pixie Snippets Playground.

In this one I used some new background paper with a
completely different look.
I am sharing this with A bit more time to craft

Have a great day and thanks for dropping in.

Playing with Penny Black

I have needed some distraction recently so I brought out my
very latest Penny Black stamps.
I am not going to tell you that I have more on order.
This CAS card shows off PB Botanical Gardens

It has been coloured with Copics and the butterfly was
painted with smooch.
The sentiment is a PB 1998 stamp.
I am sharing this with.

Still going round in circles

Yes I have been playing with circles again.
Not that I have had much time to do anything with
DH being in Hospital this week.
There is nothing worse than sitting around in hospital
waiting for Dr's etc. All so tiring.
DH is back in the nursing home now and glad to be back
with the routine and people he knows.

Really useful for using up all those pieces of  left over DP.
I have found a whole stack of odd pieces while having a clean up.
Perhaps some one can explain why every time I use up some scraps
at least 3 more pieces take their place.
Am popping over to Pixies Snippets with this.

Many thanks for popping in

Just one week to spring

The sun is just beginning to have a little warmth in it now.
I have taken a few pictures around the garden to help you feel spring like.

I love this white one

The pale pink,  the red ones are dying off

This is such a cute little star shaped flower don't know it's name

Lots of flowers died off but still more to open

and look how tall the daffs have grown trying to find the sun.
More of those cheeky star flowers you can see from this shot they are
pale blue on the tips. So pretty.

Not a good photo i'm afraid.  I was asked what could someone make just with a circle die
This is what I came up with.
A very old piece of DP covered in circles with just enough
to cut a few extra circles out.
So I am now going to pop over to Pixies playground with this and
have a game while the sun is out.

Having just been up to Devonport  to my friends craft shop, with a new friend that I met
at Qigong {exercise class} arranged by Carers Tasmania.
I have come home penniless but happy.
So now there is much sorting out of craft stuff and rearranging going on.
You can find Bev's shop HERE
They have the best prices and quickest delivery in Australia.
If you go on line tell Andrew I sent you.

One for the boys.

Sorry it has been a while since my last post but life gets in the way.
However I haven't been idle and have a few cards ready to go.
Just hoping that I haven't stiffened up too much
with the lack of practice on the swings so no energetic pushes Parsnip.

This one is a male card made with a remnant of very old DP.
The tag is a SW die and the swirls in the corners are
the cut outs from the tag
A no waste card.

Thanks for dropping in.

Jolly Holly

Still chasing my tail but have managed to make this card
following the sketch on http://52cct.blogspot.com.au/

When I start out to make a square card I always end up stuffing it
This was no exception and I have ended with a tent card.
Well it could have been worse if I had put it together upside down..

Christmas Blues

Blue ,Gold, White/ Silver is the colour spectrum over at Merry Monday.

I have taken that to mean White or Silver and have gone for White.
The gold Baubles look gorgeous in this photo, with the reflection of the flash.

I am a collector of envelopes and the blue background is part of one.
Rather too large to make a card to fit {or too mean to part with extra postage} !
The blue insert to the card is from another.
The baubles were cut for me by my niece who passed away 2 years ago.
We shared an interest in card making and I have been loathe to
use them until now.

Lovely to see you Megan so sorry I cannot comment on your blog.
I am having enough trouble with NBN dropping out all the time
so have no desire to add Google +.
Was much happier on ADSL.  NBN is only fractionally faster.
I wish I didn't have to vote but vote I must.
Fingers cross for the right outcome.

Scrap box special

Just a quick post this morning with a card I made using up a couple
of pieces of very old DP.  It was some of the very first patterned
paper ever to come out over here.

The scallop border on the very pale pink card was punched
and had been sitting in a box along with various other pieces similar.
In fact everything about this card came from scraps
so a wonderful excuse to slip over to
Pixies Playground and get into some mischief.

Have to dash.
Thanks for dropping in and for your lovely comments.

Use a sentiment

This week Hazel wants us to use a sentiment, I know I have only
used a very small one but a sentiment never the less.
I treated myself to a Tonic die which I am very happy with
and with the card that I have made.

The cute stamp was a freebee on one of the stamping magazines.

Happy Birthday

This week.
Our one and only beautiful grand daughter came to visit her POP.
Living in Melbourne we don't see  as much of her as we would like.

Afraid the photo does not show this card off very well but days have
been very wet and overcast for the last couple of weeks.
I can't remember if the mauve border is die or punch as I had
threaded the ribbon through it for another project but ended up not using it.
It had been laying on my desk for ages but seemed just right with
this DP.

Red Red Robin

I haven't been around for a few weeks but lots of things have been
happening but I wont bore you with details.
There is a lot to get my head around.
I have been doing a little crafting, not as much as
I would like but never mind.
Here is today's card.

The robin's are small snippets of left over DP.
Looking forward to dropping in  the Pixie Snippets playground
and catching up with everyone and maybe getting a hug from Parsnip.

Very Glittery

I am delighted to show you my lovely Azelea that likes to bloom
both in Autumn and Spring.
With the drought we had along with constant sunshine
I didn't think it would bloom this time.
It looked rather sick at one point with leaves yellowing
but the rain we have had recently have woken it up.
Although it is late blooming this year you can see by the buds there
is still a lot of flowers to open.

Today I have used snippets left over from my making this.

I have CASed this box from one I saw on UTube   HERE
Thought this would be ideal to make and fill
with goodies to add to any Raffles they hold at the aged care home.

Here is the card  I made, another birthday card for the home.

I was left with 4 small squares of the stripe paper.  1 still to go.
With a strip of yellow from which I also cut out the roses.
Add a snip of white{can always find some of those } and a snip of green.
The sequins are from the thousands I have and added small
glittery ones in the centre of each of the larger ones.
The borders are stickers/peeloffs very glittery and I painted
the white petals with Frost Glitz Smooch.

Now I am off to the Pixies Playground with it

Thanks for dropping in  see you again soon.

Pink and Silver

Another non traditional Christmas card although I am disappointed
with the photo it looks so dark.

This cute little girl was a freebee with a magazine last year I think and
I had never inked up.   Just thought she would look good
in pink so pink and silver it was.
She is coloured with copics with lots of silver ribbon
and the last of my silver mirror card.

Am sharing this with

Thanks for dropping in hope to see you again soon.

Ring A Ring a roses

I was looking in my drawer of left over embossed paper looking for a scrap of
Swiss Dots but this scrap of SW Bed of Roses presented itself.
Liking what I did with a previous card HERE
thought I would try colouring it again but this time
I chose to use 2 colours.
The roses were coloured with a Versa cube lilac
and the leaves with a Memento dew drop in New sprout.
The Memento having a pointed end makes it a breeze to get between the flowers.

There was just enough of the pale mauve card to mat the embossing
and cut out the 3 little flowers.
I just have a sliver of the pale mauve to take with me when I shop again
The flourish I found in my box of greenery had a piece missing.
not to worry I hid that behind a flower.
The silver stickers/peeloffs look as if I was worse for wear when
I stuck them on but dare I try to straighten them?

Happy Mother's Day

A very happy Mothers Day to all you Mum's out there who are celebrating today.
You will never guess but I won the Mother's Day raffle at Fairway.
The home that my husband is in.
It was a great big box full on all these goodies.
I now have a fridge full of chocies and I am not a chocoholic.
Lots of beautiful smelly stuff to pamper myself with.
Hope they are not trying to tell me something!!!!!!
Along with a teddy cuddling a baby teddy.
2 cups and saucers and a selection of teas
And I love the useful big box it was packed in.
Also I won on Craftyhazelnuts challenge a lovely CD from OH LA LA.
So really I have had a good week.
Now here is my card for today.

Non traditional colours well not the bright yellow.
This little lass has been waiting in the drawer for about 2 years I think.
I think she was coloured with Tombows and as she is on watercolour paper
guess I must have used my aqua brush.
Certainly not my best effort.

Postage stamp flowers

A big hi to Megan, glad I gave you a laugh unfortunately I can't visit
you as I am not able to get onto Google+ to see any of your lovely cards
or leave a comment.
I am always blocked by a screen that says Join Now but I am not sure that I want to.
Are there any advantages to joining Google+?
Not being that Tech Savvy perhaps some kind person could explain it all to me.

Anyway onto today's card.  These little flowers had been mounted
ages ago have no idea what I had in mind for them then but they were in my bit box.
The paper is LOTV and I found a tiny scrap just big enough to
mount the greeting on.

Winter has arrived.  We have gone from 20+ down to 14-16
and were greeted this morning with snow on the mountain.
At least at long last we have had some of the wet stuff.
Unfortunately with it came the wind and played havoc in the north
of the state a lot of people were without power last night.
Poor things must have froze.

Oh so simple

Today I am going out to play in the Winter Wonderland,
where they are asking for white on white Christmas cards.
This is not the easiest thing to do or for that matter take photos of either.
Here is my take on it.

I managed to save 3 of the little stars from the tree, the others
popped into the bin before I could save them and it would have
been looking for a needle in a haystack to have found them in there.
I am still wondering if I should add some iced snow to it.
Does it need a little glitter, I am not sure.

This has been a busy week for me among other things I was
asked if I would help out at the home where they were
holding a mini fair.
So on the day I pushed DH down to the room where they had the fair
in his wheelchair
and sat him where he could see all that was going on.
The cleaners came in on their break and decided he was worth $100
and stuck a price ticket to his cardigan.
Later there was a mock auction going on and they got the price to $250
and left him with the deposit of an empty chip packet.
Then a carer thought he was totally over priced and put him down to $1.
Plus he was being dressed up in scarves to make him look like a
film producer. Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me.
Needless to say he loved all the attention but got so very tired.
Also the fair was a great success.

Take one Gloss card blank x2

So for the second side of the gloss card I sponged with the
colours from my Kaleidacolor Baby Powder pad.

This is such a soft coloured background and I managed to find enough
of the blue card to cut out to trim it with and a 3d topper
to go with it.
The border is Dinamics Crochet Border.
The tag is SB detailed scallops.
The smallest Memory box Leavenworth Butterfly.
and the frame made with SB labels 23.
I have also unearthed masses of sequins left over from my
youngest daughters ballroom dancing days.
So expect to see more of them.

One Gloss card blank

Yes I took one gloss card blank and on one side I sponged
DI Mowed Lawn and Barn Door then
stamped circles with Brilliance Midnight White
and polished with a tissue.
I selected a Red card blank a coloured image and DP.
however I then hopped over to the
ABC Christmas challenge and became inspired by the DT cards.
So here is what I ended up with.

I tell you my cards always end up making themselves.
After choosing the greeting I had to go through a heap of dies to find one
that would cut it out completely and I was happy this one worked
as it has little stars that I coloured in with my gold sharpie.
It did smudge a little so perhaps next time I will try my gel pen.
The poinsettia was left over from last year.
I was happy to find a couple of snippets of the same green
to cut out the ivy well bits of it anyway.

I am sharing this with

Many thanks for dropping in.
